The Fiddlier On The Roof

A man is playing a fiddle on a roof while another man narrates. He talks about the fiddlier and tradition and how he doesn't know how tradition starts. Story begins to show what every villager does as their own tradition. The narriator says without tradition our lifes would be as shakey as a fiddlier on a roof. Two women sit and talk about having the worst husband is better than having no husband. The older woman tries to match the other woman with a husband. Then everyone sings about the matchmaker. The man that was narriating earlier talks to god about poor people and his horse's lame foot and talks to a woman that tells him that he will be late for sabath then begins to sing about being a rich man. The man pulls the wagon by hand because of his horse's lame foot. The man and some other men talk then a man from out of town that goes to a university comes over and talks to them and agrues that the university man does not know what he is talking about then the group decides the man arguing and the university man are both right. The man that pulls the wagon agrees to feed university man for teaching his five daughters about the good book. He brings the man to his house and introduces him to his family and the wife that tells him that he will be late for sabath. The family then prepares for dinner for the sabath. One of the daughters friends who is a tailor wants to ask her father if he can marry her but panics and just says good sabath. The wife tells her husband that a man wants to talk to him after sabath and he finally agrees then they sing about the sabath. The man goes to talk to the man his wife wanted him to. The man is asking the husband about wanting one of his daughters because he is lonely and the husband thinks that he wants to buy a cow at first. He promises to be good Then the husband thinks to himself if he should let him have her then decides that he is a good man and can have her then they sing about drinking to life. While they are singing they make their way to the bar and they all sing and dance to life and the man about to have a wife. The father of the daughter gets news of an upcoming demonstration then dances away with the fiddlier. The university man dances with the fathers oldest daughter who people do in the city after he teaches the others and then the daughter leaves. The father gives the daughter the news that she will be married. She is not very happy about it and neither is the university man but the father and mother are happy about it. The father asks his daughter whats wrong and she says she doesn't want to marry him so she begs him not to force her to marry him and he agrees. The tailor asks the father if he can marry his daughter and the father thinks he is out of his mind and the tailor and the daughter said they pledged to marry one another and then they sing about it. The father thinks about all the possiblities with them to himself and thinks about tradition. Then decides to let them marry. He then remembers that he already told the butcher that he could marry his daughter. The tailor sings about how happy he is.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://blackoutwriting.blogspot.com/2010/04/fiddlier-on-roof.html' title=':. Non verbal communication

Mr. Bean rushes to school. Him and the man sitting beside him pull pencils out of their pockets. The man tries to out do Mr. Bean by pulling more pencils than him out, then Mr. Bean pulls more pencils than him and also other things. Mr. Bean opens his test and is very confused and does not know what to do while the man beside him works. Mr. Bean tries to cheat of the man, but the man throws away his work and starts a new paper so Mr. Bean tries to cheat again. He continues to try to cheat by blowing the mans paper, grabbing the paper, and throwing his pen down and going around the desk. He gives up. Then when the end of the time for the test comes around, he realises he had been doing the wrong test and hurries to do it but time is up. He goes somewhere to try to tan and tries to change next to another guy and struggles to change so he doesn't see but then finds out that the man is blind. He goes to church. He looks round bored and starts to snezze then snezzes and makes a scene about it. He can not sit still and listen. He falls asleep and wakes up in shock and does it again except he falls in the floor this time. He tries to open candy without disterbing people around him but finds a way to. He proceeds to sing with the people of the church and distracts people as normal. He listens to a man play his instrument on a street and dances with him then takes money a person throws down for them. He walks into a store after looking at a credit card and goes in to shop but is choked up by the smells of the store and goes on to a different department. He tries out a tooth brush in the store then puts it in his basket with a towel he used in the store. He proceeds to keep testing items out around the store. He goes to a fancy resturant tastes the wine then doesn't get more because he says he has to drive. He taps on all the glasses with his silverware. His food comes and he doesnt like it but he acts like he does when the waiters come around but when they go away he hides the food in things on the table and under plates and in bread. He trips a waiter then gets moved tables but still gets served the same raw steak. He is dressed up in a room of other people dressed up waiting for something and a man checks his breath so Mr. Bean thinks he should to and goes to alot of trouble to make sure his smells good then starts messing with his teeth and pulls a thread out of a womens dress to flaws his teeth. He sees that a man has things he doesnt have so he makes it so he does while making a fool of himself. He gets his hand stuck in his fly when the person everyone was waiting on shows up so he head buts her. He goes to a pool and tries to go down the little kid slide when a lifeguard whistles at him to stop, so he runs away and sees the diving board. He climbs to the highest part and gets scared and wont jump so he lays down and crawls to the edge. Kids come up behind him so he tries to force himself to jump. He is still scared and crawls around the board and inches off until he is hanging by his arms. The lifeguard sees him and the kid steps on his hands so he falls off into the water, he loses his shorts in the water and a girl grabs them and runs away. The lifeguard says for everyone to get out of the pull so Mr. Bean stays in because he has no shorts. He gets out then a crowd of girls walks in and everyone runs away. He cant get out of the parking garage so he waits til someone opens the gate and then drives at them fast so they back up after the gate comes up. He goes to a park and sits beside a man on a bench. The man is eating a small sandwich so Mr. Bean pulls out a loaf of bread and cuts it into pieces with scissors. He washes the lettus for the bread in a water fountain then dries it in his sock. He crushes pepper for his sandwich by smashing it with his shoe and makes tea with milk and sneezes and spills it everywhere. He goes to the movies and sits next to a girl and messes with her the whole time scaring her. Then tries to leave because he is to scared and throws his popcorn everywhere til its all gone then puts the bag over his head and when itts over he grabs the girls hand but her and isnt in her sleeve so he screams and he screams.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://blackoutwriting.blogspot.com/2010/04/non-verbal-communication.html' title=':. Banning iPods

Schools across America are banning media players in hopes to prevent cheating. Mountain View employed that band after officials realized formulas were being downloaded on to Ipods by students. Banning of items to prevent cheating is not foreign territory for schools but as technology advances, it has become increasingly harder for achaic officials to keep up. This artical calls into question major dilemma in the molding of young minds: whether rules and restrictions guide teens away from bad choices or if simply teaching them integrity gives them the tools needed to make good ones.

My opinion about this ban of iPods is that they should just be used during school at the appropriate times. During test or while a teacher is talking a student should not be using the media device. If a student is doing his or her homework or a project during class or if nothing is going on at that time, the student should be allowed to listen to his or her iPod. Therefore, iPods should only be in use during school in moderation, not completely banned.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://blackoutwriting.blogspot.com/2010/03/banning-ipods.html' title=':. The man then proceeds to pass the truck again and the truck honks. He pulls up to a gas station, and the truck also comes to the same gas station. The man gets gas and the other man gets impatiant and honks while the service man fills the mans car and gives the man change for the phone. The man calls home to check on his family and apologizes to his wife for not standing up for her at a party when another man is all over Then the truck disapears for a few minutes then charges after the man. The truck stays close behind going fast and the man goes faster losing some control. The truck rams the car repeatedly. The car runs off road and hits a fence but the man is ok and the truck kept going. He goes to the bathroom and thinks everythings going to be alright now then he sees the truck outside. He sits and thinks which person at the bar would be the one that drove the truck as the waitress takes his order. The man starts to accuse one of the men at the diner of trying to kill him and it was not the man. He gets beat up. He sees the truck drive off and runs after it then stops and goes back to his car. He comes apon a school bus thats stuck and tries to help but also gets stuck. Then the truck approches the man. The man and bus driver get his car unstuck then the truck helps the school bus. The man stops for railroad tracks then the truck gets behind the car and tries to push him into the train. Train passes then man runs off road and truck driver speeds off. The man starts to drive again and a van passes him. He gets behind the truck again. He turns at a gas station and the truck stops to wait on him. David Mann ( the man) tries to call police from telephone booth when the truck runs it over with David bearly escaping. The truck proceeds to destroy everything at the gas station. Then David leaves quickly. Then runs off the road to hide down a hill from the truck. The truck passes. The man falls asleep in his car. A train passes after a while and he wakes up in shock and drives off after gaining composure again. The man sees the truck and stops and anotther car passes him. He starts going and the truck pulls onto road so he can not pass so he goes the other direction and stops gets out and walks towards the truck. The truck drives forward then stops as the man stops running. Another car approches, David tries to ask for help but the truck runs the other car off. Then the truck waves David past and he floors it and the truck follows. They then go onto a closed road. After driving up a mountain his radiator hose breaks and his car overheats but continues to keep going. He gets to top of hill and puts car in neutral on the way down.

:. Coastal towns were almost completely destroyed because of earthquake with soon after tsunami.

Global Warming- It is hard to convince people that global warming is an issue with all the snow lately. Short term climate changes such as the snow storms in the eastern U.S this winter are not the same thing as Long term climate changes.

European Storm- France hit hardest. Storm killed at least 62 people across coast of western Europe. Left one million homes without electricity. Storm also battered Belgium, Portugal, Spain, and parts of Germany and stalled train and air travel throughout the continent.

All of these storys are about the world's problems. I believe that every person should take the time to read this book.

The theme of this book could be never give up. Elie was close to breaking down through the hardships he endured while in the concentration camps, but never gave up and died with millions of others. The author’s style is strait forward and easy to read. It made me feel as though I was actually with him in the camps. It is very unique because of the fact that it had really happened.

Main Characters in Night include mostly just Elie and his father. Elie and his father are separated from their family when they arrive at the first camp. They meet many others that they get separated from such as one of their family members they did not usually see otherwise.

The setting for the most part is with in concentration camps in Europe during the Holocaust. Nazis slaughter Jews in the death camps that they pass on the way to the camp that Elie and his father go to. Living conditions were poor. People die from starvation because of the lack of food. They live in close spaces with no sanitation. The plot is a great one because when Elie makes you think it’s about to be over it is not. The book is not long but he draws out the ending.

I would recommend this novel to anyone who would like to learn about the Holocaust. The novel will help anyone have a better understanding of what actually happened to people during this terrible time. It was a good book.

Completing of junior year...thoughts

I am happy to be completing my junior year. This year has been a long one, and had many good times and bad times during it. The main points in my year include soccer, school work, and friends.

The beginning of soccer turned out to be very good. A week before the first game I tore some ligaments in my knee in half in off season football. After that happened, I decided to not do football and just do soccer for now on. I was in the hospital for a week and at home for another week. Our team did not win conference, but still got to go to the state tournament. I recovered quick and got to play in the state games. We won the first state match. We lost the second to the team that ended up winning the tournament. Our team is only going to lose one starter next year so we should do very well.

School over all was good. I had above a three point four all year long and took the ACT once. I did not do to well on it though. I scored a nineteen because I failed to take it seriously enough and did not get any sleep because I had a lot of friends over at my house the night before so I had did not sleep any that night. School work was easier after I got my laptop for Christmas. It helps a ton for getting things done at home.

After school and on the weekends was great. My friends and I were always up to something crazy and fun. I started going out with my girlfriend Riley on December nineteenth. Shes one of the best things in my life. On the weekends, I would be with her or running around with my friends. We play soccer, Xbox Live, and just chill.

This year overall was alright. It proved to be easy like classes before have said. The year was a little boring compared to last though.

Haiku

Holocaust was bad

Segregation, murdering

Few made it throgh it

Thoughts on Holocaust Research

The Holocaust proved to be a horrible time in history. The research that I have found about the Holocaust has taught me a lot more than what I knew before about this subject. I think that everyone should learn about the Holocaust even though it is a terrible topic to discuss.

I found that a lot more people were murdered than what I thought before. Millions were murdered by the Nazis with various different methods. They killed them in gas chambers, on the range where they shot them, and by burning them alive.

Another thing I learned from my research is that they did not give people very much food so they would eventually die without them having to kill them. I thought that they did not feed them much just to be cruel, but they were in fact trying to kill them. Gas chambers were the most effective way to kill the Jews off.

I learned that the reason so many hate communism is because this happened in a communist country. People do not want something like that to ever happen again. Every time something the government does something that even looks like they are being communistic then people start to get mad because no one wants to fall into a communistic society.

The things I have learned from my research has helped me understand how other countries are like and how things could turn out if my country ever falls into communism.

Favorite web based tech. tool

Many web tools help people in many different ways. My favorites include web tools such as search engines, Microsoft office, and blogging. These tools are tools that I use often and help me do school projects.

Search engines such as google, yahoo, and ask come in handy in everyday life. Whenever you need to look something up to find out what it is used for or anything of that sort, these search engines will give you free answers. These engines can help you find web pages that have information that you can use for whatever you need at the time.

Microsoft office is a tool that has features that include excel, word, and PowerPoint. Excel helps make tables and graphs for work, school, and anything else. Word contributes to writing papers, making resumes, or anything that needs to be typed out. Power points are good for making presentations for a topic in which you are studying or making something for work.

Blogging lets you express yourself over the Internet with others. One can connect with others about things that they have in common. Book reviews are something that many blog about so others can see if a book is good or bad before they decide to read it.

Web based tech. tools are very useful in everyday life and can also help for work or school. I do not know what I would do without them.

SPRING BREAK

This spring break I had a lot of fun. This year’s spring break did not seem as long as it usually is, but it was a whole week out of school.

I stayed at home for most of my break and had friends over every day. If friends were not at my house, I was at there house. Some of my friends live a little out of the way, so I wasted gas.

My friend from Little Rock came down to visit for three days also. We went to Jonesboro and Little Rock, each for a day, to eat and shop. While we were at the house, we just played Xbox live, ate, and went to the movies.

I did not do anything very exciting. Spring break defiantly went by way to fast. The majority of people who were murdered were Jews.

Hitler believed that blond haired blue eyed people were the dominate race. He thought that the Germans were the best race and his ideas were like those of Charles Darwin’s about only the strong could survive. He and his soldiers murdered thousands of people and started a war. Hitler kept Jews in concentration camps to do work until he eventually killed them using various techniques such as burning alive or shooting them in the head. Hitler was ruthless and had no second thoughts about killing others.

Hitler’s actions caused a war. I do not like that this event had to take place and wish we could have done more about it.

Thoughts on EOL Exam

The end of level literacy exam was not as hard as others made it seem. Teachers stressed for nothing because this exam proved to be easy.

Reading responses wrote and answered quick and easily. Everything that they wanted you to write about came strait out of the reading. I found it was easier to make four boxes and answer it that way. That way made the responses go a lot faster.

Multiple choice for the reading ask you things strait from the reading which made them easy to answer. There were very few multiple choices, and I got done with them well within the time limit.

The writing multiple choice and open responses were the hardest thing on the test, but the multiple choice was not very time consuming. The open response made for a challenge because they took a while and you only had a certain time limit to do it in.

Overall, this end of level test was not very hard. I did my best on everything and will not have to have remediation because I have confidence that I did well.

Great Gatsby review

F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel The Great Gatsby entertained me with its unique story. The novel tells of love, materialistic people, and consequence. More people should read this novel because it teaches many life lessons like sometimes you just have to accept that people move on and that bad actions lead to consequences. The author's style is different from most because it uses words that some might not understand completely. Fitzgerald writes very well and educated. His voice is unusual compared to other novels I have read by other people because his writing is very descriptive and not to easy to read.

The novel reads as though the characters are real people. F. Scott Fitzgerald makes the characters have different but distinct personalities, and no character is like another. Gatsby tries to impress others and tries to make others like him by having nice things. Nick is a person that is the main character and through which the story is told. He is different from Gatsby because he is not very materialistic and does not live among the rich in East Egg where Gatsby lives.

The Great Gatsby takes place in West Egg and East Egg, New York and after the war. This setting is not at all like the world I know. This all took place before I was born and no one had computers or modern telephones.

My novels plot consists of some love affairs. Before the war, Gatsby and a woman named Daisy were together and she promised to wait on him. When Gatsby returned, she was with another man. Nick soon moved to West Egg from the Midwest. At this time, Gatsby was still in love with Daisy even though she had moved on. Gatsby soon meet Nick and asked him to try to get Daisy in the same room with him. Gatsby and Daisy then talked and reestablished their love for one another. Then bad things start to happen and you will just have to read the novel to find out what happens.

I liked this novel and approve it to anyone looking for a good read. It is not the easiest book to read in one's spare time, but teaches life lessons that many do not know that should know. The Great Gatsby reads great and is an all around good book.

BOOK REVIEW!!!

Goal!: The Dream Begins by Robert Rigby hypnotized me by his fascinating story of Santiago. This novel discusses how Santiago went from being another kid on the streets with a dream to play professional soccer to actually getting a shot to play with the professionals. This novel teaches the lesson that dreams can come true if your willing to work hard enough to make them reality. Robert Rigby style is strait forward and he doesn't go on and on about one specific topic.

Santiago lives in L.A. He works hard because his family does not have very much money. Santiago also loves soccer with a passion. He is one of the best in the city and finally gets noticed when a man from England is watching one of his games and gives him a trial to play for a soccer club in England called New Castle United.Just like anyone in the real world, Santiago has to work to get money. He works more than ever so he can pay for a flight to England.

The setting starts off in Mexico when Santiago and his family are escaping to America when he was a little kid. Then the novel skips to when he is a teenager in L.A. The story stays there until he flies to England and that is where most of the novel takes place.

After he arrives in England, he has to work harder than ever to make the team. When he does finally make the team, some problems start to occur with his family back home and for him while he is there. Then when he finally gets to play, he makes something amazing happen that finally makes his dad proud of him for once, and soon after a bad thing happens to someone close to him. Sadly I can not give away what happens.

This novel is suspenseful and a good read for anyone who likes soccer. It is an easy read and quickly draws you in. There is also a second book, but I have not read it yet. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a good read about soccer.

Materialistic

Too many people are materialistic now. Being materialistic means that you are more concerned with material things other than your own values. People now think that they have to fit in to what everyone else is doing and think that they have to have everything that everyone else has. The media consumes us now through the TV, magazines, and advertisements in hope to make us want things that we do not need.

This issue used to not be a problem. Everyone used to work for everything and just got what they actually needed in life, but now that has changed. People spend money on worthless possessions just to look better, show off, and for no reason but just to have them sometimes. Too many now have changed their values.

People focus more on their wants more than their needs. This gets many people into financial holes that they can not get themselves out of. More people need to think twice about what they think about buying or wanting and remember that their needs need to come before their wants. Materialistic people often start judging others based on what they have. This causes many to be like them. Most of our society has turned into being materialistic lately.

Junior Year

My junior year has been filled with ups and downs along this first semester. School feels pretty easy this year.

Classes go along quicker and easier now that I am a junior. It seems as though there is less work involved now. I like most all of my classes but have to worry time to time about one of my classes, chemistry, because it is real hard for me. Chemistry is the only class that gives me a lot of trouble. I'm just not to good at it i guess. Algebra and Spanish two are going really well and I thought they'd be the hardest.

Sports started off pretty hard for me. In March, I broke my femur in half during a soccer game after scoring a goal. I was out until the middle of June. Around the middle of June I started jogging, running, and working out again. People say that I recovered quick, but I don't think so because when football started i still couldn't go one hundred percent. I got real mad during practice when I couldn't go as hard as I thought I could. The first few weeks sucked, but it got better and I started the first game of the season.

My year has been pretty good over all, but could have been a lot better. Next semester is going to be great because it will be time for soccer. I love soccer. Its my favorite sport. I can't wait to get back on the field.

character John Procter

John Procter works very hard. This book is filled with drama and tells of the Salem witch trials.

Many characters bully in this novel. One case of bullying involves the girls against Mary Warren. Mary Warren tells Procter and the judge that the girls are just pretending and that everything that they are doing is fake. The girls argue and yell at her and pretend more in court to make Mary look like she's ling.

Another case of bullying is when people confess to witchcraft just so they cannot be hung later if accused. This I think is wrong because they could confess and accuse someone else who hasn't done anything wrong.

This novel definitely has to much drama for me. I would recommend this to someone who likes literature or just likes to read but i did not like it to much.

The good and the bad..

In the novel I am reading, The Kite Runner, the main character, Amir, goes though some rough and also good times.

Amir is a boy who grows up what some would call a nerd because of things he likes such as writing and books. One topic which is discussed in this book is bulling.

Bulling is something that should not ever happen but it always does. Amir, the main character, and Hassan, Amir’s half brother, both get bullied in this book. Amir bullies Hassan by not allowing him to read or write when he knows that he could teach him how to but he doesn’t. Amir gets bullied by the other kids in the village. When the other kids try to harm him, he becomes inert and Hassan steppes in to fight his battle for him.

This is a good book and its easy to read but it makes u think about life and how you approach things.

Barack Obama

My letter to the next president is to Barack Obama. I believe that he has the best plan for the U.S today.

The first issue is the economic crisis that America now faces. Obama’s plan includes: Jump starting the economy by enacting a Windfall Profits Tax to provide a $1,000 emergency energy rebate to American families and to provide $50 billion to jumpstart the economy and prevent 1 million Americans from losing their jobs. Obama also includes providing the middle class with tax relief, creating new alternative energy programs and putting and end to mortgage fraud.

The second issue is healthcare in the United States. Barack Obama believes that every American has a right to affordable, accessible healthcare that works for the people and not just the insurance and drug companies. The Obama-Biden plan will promote public health by reducing costs and save a typical American family up to $2,500 as reforms phase in: 1) Lower drug costs by allowing the importation of safe medicines from other developed countries, increasing the use of generic drugs in public programs and taking on drug companies that block cheaper generic medicines from the market.
2) Require hospitals to collect and report health care cost and quality data.
3) Reduce the costs of catastrophic illnesses for employers and their employees. And, 4) reform the insurance market to increase competition by taking on anticompetitive activity that drives up prices without improving quality of care. It will require coverage of preventive services, including cancer screenings and increase state and local preparedness for terrorist attacks and natural disasters.

The third issue is our dependence on foreign oil. The Obama-Biden comprehensive New Energy for America plan will: provide short-term relief to American families facing pain at the pump, help create five million new jobs by strategically investing $150 billion over the next ten years to catalyze private efforts to build a clean energy future, within 10 years save more oil than we currently import from the Middle East and Venezuela combined. Put 1 million Plug-In Hybrid cars -- cars that can get up to 150 miles per gallon -- on the road by 2015, cars that we will work to make sure are built here in America. Ensure 10 percent of our electricity comes from renewable sources by 2012, and 25 percent by 2025. And, implement an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80 percent by 2050.

These issues are my reasons why i choose to support Obama for president in this year's election.

Theme

Theme

The theme of my novel Black Storm Comin’ by Diane Wilson describes that life is not always easy. The main character Colton goes through a lot of rough times. My author Diane Wilson mastered the term theme by describing this particular theme very well. First in the beginning of the novel, Colton’s dad ran away after accidentally shooting Colton. His dad ran away once before but came back. This time he didn’t come back. Second, Colton’s family later became very sick. His little brother dies. His mom gets so sick that she can’t eat or get out of bed. Finally, Colton has to learn to drive the wagon after his dad runs away. He had to step up and be in charge of their wagon and that was very hard for him. Colton goes through many rough times throughout this novel and the author Diane Wilson explains it well.

WHAT UP WORLD!

Hey world!
